My Why

From the very start of 2014 I just knew it was going to be a special year filled with positive transformations. Maybe partly because several of my friends and I hit the big 4-0 this year, but honestly it felt so much bigger than that. Throughout the year, the Universe kept knocking me upside my head with encouragement and confirmation that it was MY time to step OUT of my comfort zone and IN to what I instinctively knew to be my purpose.

There was an undeniable positive energy telling me that 2014 would be life-changing!

Growing up I always knew I wanted to be a business woman, but I also celebrated diversity and had a strong desire to help others. At one point I had even considered being a Civil Rights lawyer, but I was led down a different career path and I’ve created a life for which I’m truly grateful. I have enjoyed a highly-successful career in I.T. (Information Technology) Sales. Not as exciting as a career being a Civil Rights Lawyer, but the income has allowed me to help my family (and others) in different ways.

Part of the goal with this website is to share the amazing journey that my husband Raymond and I have taken over the past 16 years. From Raymond’s kidney failure at 29, to infertility issues, to his open-heart surgery at 39, to home hemo-dialysis and the series of miracles we have witnessed (which serve as reminders to cherish each other and our two children even more), I hope that our story can be a help to others that may be facing similar obstacles.

A little less than 2 years ago I was introduced to an opportunity to start my own business in my spare time, that not only provides a lucrative income, but also allows me to help countless others here in the US and around the world.

So, at the age of 40, after 23 years of the corporate grind, 14 of which were in I.T. Sales, I handed corporate America my resignation letter, so I can free up more time to focus on my business, family, and on empowering others.

Now, before any of you start thinking that this is all a result of some mid-life crisis (and I know some of you are because you know I’m leaving my six-figure job at what appears to be the peak of my career), let me reassure you that I couldn’t feel MORE confident and HAPPY about my decision.

In our busy, plate-spinning culture, I’m just choosing to set down one of the plates that no longer brings me joy so that I can focus my attention on what does AND what will bring me closer to my purpose.

My Vision Board Coming True

My Vision Board . . .

For several years I’ve yearned for more balance in my life. Then, about 3 years ago I put together a dream board that I placed on my cubicle wall at work. The images I selected represented:

  1. Family
  2. Time/Balance
  3. Savings
  4. Health and Fitness
  5. Travel (specifically a trip to Italy)
  6. A New Lexus
  7. Becoming debt-free

. . . Coming True

  1. Family first (CHECK)
  2. Better balance of time (CHECK)
  3. Savings (CHECK)
  4. Health and Fitness (CHECK)
  5. Trip to Italy
  6. New Lexus (CHECK – free car bonus from new business)
  7. Debt-Free in less than 2 years

HERE’S WHAT I KNOW FOR SURE…
Life is too short, so don’t be afraid to trust your instincts in the effort to create the life of your dreams!
